Custom accounting software for small businesses
If your customer balances live in a spreadsheet, payments in a notebook and receipts in a phone gallery, you are running the business on guesswork. Weras Labs builds bookkeeping tools that bring daily money flow into one clear system, shaped around how your team actually works, with clean period exports your accountant can use straight away.
What a bookkeeping tool should do for you
Day-to-day bookkeeping answers simple questions that are surprisingly hard to answer from scattered files: who owes you what and since when, what you spent this month and on what, how much cash is really available today. When that information is spread across tools, invoices go unpaid, cash flow is managed by feel and the month-end handover to your accountant takes days.
The software we build does not replace your accountant or your statutory books. It is the operational layer underneath: accurate, timely records for you, and tidy, complete data for the person who files your returns.
Typical scope
Every business is different, but most projects start with these modules:
- Customer and supplier accounts: balances, statements, payment terms
- Income and expense tracking: categorised entries with receipt and invoice attachments
- Accounts receivable: due-date reminders, partial payments, ageing reports
- Cash and bank accounts: transfers between accounts and daily balance reports
- Reporting: monthly profit and loss overview, cash flow, top outstanding balances
- Accountant export: period records with documents as Excel or CSV, in the format your accountant prefers
If you issue invoices, we can connect an invoicing or e-invoicing provider so every invoice lands on the right customer account. If you hold stock, sales can share a database with your inventory system.
Off-the-shelf or custom?
Plenty of good accounting packages exist, and for many businesses they are the right answer. Custom software starts to make sense when your workflow does not fit the package: project-based billing, multiple branches with separate cash desks, instalment sales, or a tight link with your online store, CRM or inventory system. It also pays off when per-seat subscription fees grow faster than your team.
In the first call we will tell you honestly whether an existing product would serve you better. Sometimes the best move is a ready-made tool plus a small integration, and we are happy to build just that.
What affects the price and the timeline
We do not publish a price list, because two businesses rarely need the same thing. The main factors are:
- The number of modules and the depth of reporting
- Users, roles and permissions (owner, bookkeeper, branch manager)
- Integrations with invoicing providers, banks or your online store
- Importing historical data from spreadsheets or another program
- Mobile use and offline entry
A focused bookkeeping tool usually goes live in 3–6 weeks; multi-branch or integration-heavy systems take 6–12 weeks. Tell us what you need and we will send a free quote with options that fit your budget.
Technology and why work with us
We build it as a web application that runs in any browser, on desktop, tablet and phone, using Next.js, React, TypeScript and Node.js. Data sits on Firebase with authenticated access and regular backups, and the app is deployed on Vercel. Nothing to install, and every update reaches every user at once.
Weras Labs is a small senior team led by founder Habip Dayan. You talk directly to the developer who writes your code, not to an account manager, which keeps decisions fast and nothing gets lost in translation. We are based in Turkey and work with clients abroad remotely.

Frequently asked questions
Does this replace my accountant?
No. The software keeps your day-to-day records accurate; tax filings, statutory books and advice stay with your accountant. The goal is to hand them complete, readable data and cut the month-end back-and-forth.
Is custom bookkeeping software realistic for a very small business?
Yes, if the scope is kept tight. Many clients start with a single-user version covering customer balances and income and expenses, then add modules as they grow. A small first release keeps both timeline and budget reasonable.
Can it handle invoicing and e-invoicing?
We connect the software to an invoicing or e-invoicing provider that fits your country's requirements. Issued invoices are then posted to the right customer account and income records automatically.
Can you import our spreadsheets?
Yes. We import customer records, open balances and historical entries, flag inconsistencies before the import and clean them up with you.
How is our financial data protected?
Access requires authenticated user accounts with role-based permissions, data is backed up regularly and every change is logged. We can also add offline entry that syncs once a connection is back.
How long does it take and what does it cost?
A focused tool usually takes 3–6 weeks, larger integrated systems 6–12 weeks. Cost depends on modules and integrations, so we send a free quote after a short conversation about your needs.
