Mobile app development for iOS and Android, from one team

Whether you want to be on your customers' home screens, give your field team a tool that works from a phone, or bring your web product to the app stores, we build mobile apps end to end. With React Native we ship iOS and Android from a single codebase, and when it makes more sense we recommend a progressive web app (PWA) that needs no store at all. Design, development, backend and App Store and Google Play publishing all happen in one team.

What kind of mobile apps we build

Businesses that come to us for a mobile app usually need one of these:

  • Customer apps: ordering, bookings, loyalty, offers and notifications under your own brand.
  • Field and staff apps: visit logs, photo reports, stock counts, barcode scanning and signatures.
  • A mobile version of your web product: your SaaS or web app on the phone, sharing the same backend.
  • MVPs: a lean but solid first release to test your idea with real users in the stores.

We always start with one question: does this really need a store app, or would a PWA that installs to the home screen do the job? Based on notifications, camera, location and offline needs, we recommend the most cost-effective route.

Native, cross-platform or PWA?

There are three main ways to build a mobile app, and the choice directly affects budget and timeline:

  • React Native (cross-platform): one codebase for iOS and Android with full access to camera, notifications, location and payments. This is what we recommend for most projects.
  • PWA: opens in the browser, installs to the home screen and skips store review. Ideal for internal tools and quick starts.
  • Fully native (Swift/Kotlin): for the rare cases that need heavy graphics, special hardware or extreme performance.

If you also have a web app, we share React and TypeScript knowledge across both, so the backend, business rules and design language stay consistent and maintenance costs stay down.

What affects cost and timeline

Mobile app cost depends on the number of screens, sign-in and user roles, payments and subscriptions, maps and location, offline support, push notifications, whether you need an admin dashboard, and third-party integrations. Whether the app needs its own server and admin panel is often the biggest single factor.

As a rough guide, a simple PWA or single-purpose app takes 4–8 weeks, and an iOS and Android app with accounts, payments and an admin dashboard takes 8–14 weeks. We add a few days to the plan for app store review.

Technology and infrastructure

  • App: React Native, Expo and TypeScript
  • Backend: Node.js APIs and Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Messaging for push)
  • Admin dashboard: a Next.js web panel for content and user management
  • Publishing: App Store Connect and Google Play Console, with TestFlight and internal test tracks
  • AI: Claude or Gemini APIs for chat, summaries or extracting information from photos when it helps

Developer accounts are opened in your name, so the app, the source code and your user data are entirely yours.

Why Weras Labs

We are a small senior team led by our founder, Habip Dayan, and you talk directly to the developer building your app. Every week you get a test build to install on your own phone, so you follow progress by using it. Because we build and run our own software products, store policies, privacy requirements and release management are familiar ground. We are based in Turkey and work with clients abroad in English.

Frequently asked questions

How long does mobile app development take?

A simple PWA or single-purpose app takes 4–8 weeks. iOS and Android apps with accounts, payments and an admin dashboard usually take 8–14 weeks. We leave a few extra days for app store review.

How much does it cost to build a mobile app?

It depends on screens, payments, notifications, maps, offline support and whether you need an admin dashboard. We prepare a free quote for your project and can simplify the first release to fit your budget.

Do I have to pay twice for iOS and Android?

No. With React Native we ship both platforms from one codebase, which makes development and maintenance considerably cheaper than two separate native apps.

Do you publish the app to the App Store and Google Play?

Yes. We help you open the developer accounts, prepare the store listings and handle review. The accounts are in your name, so the app remains fully yours.

Is a PWA enough instead of a native app?

A PWA is a web app that installs to the home screen without app store review. It is often enough for internal tools and early versions; if you need store visibility or deeper device features, we recommend React Native.

Can you turn my website into a mobile app?

Wrapping a website in an app shell often fails store review and feels poor to use. Instead we build a real mobile app or PWA that reuses your existing backend and data.
