Web Design, SEO and Google Ads for Businesses in Portugal

Weras Labs designs and builds websites, online shops and web apps for companies in Portugal, and runs their SEO, Google Ads and social media. We work remotely from Turkey, two to three hours ahead of Lisbon, in English. Start with a free intro call and a written proposal.

Four services for Portugal, one team

We build your site, get you found on Google and bring customers in with ads. You talk to the same person for all of it.

Portugal sells a great deal to people who are not in Portugal yet: visitors planning a trip to the Algarve, buyers abroad looking at a wine or a pair of shoes from the north, founders weighing a move to Lisbon. That makes the website the first salesperson for many Portuguese businesses, and it usually has to speak Portuguese and English equally well.

We are a small software company in Turkey. One senior developer takes your project from the first call to launch and stays on for support, so you never have to brief the same idea twice. We work remotely, write everything down, and keep the build focused on bookings, enquiries and sales.

Industries we can help in Portugal

What these businesses need online, and what we would build for them.

  1. 01

    Tourism and short-stay accommodation

Guesthouses, surf schools and tour operators need fast mobile pages, clear availability and direct booking that cuts reliance on commission platforms.

  2. 02

Wine, olive oil and food producers

Producers from the Douro to the Alentejo benefit from a bilingual story-led site, a shop with age checks where needed, and trade enquiry forms for importers.

  3. 03

Textiles and footwear in the north

Manufacturers around Porto and Braga sell to brands abroad, so a clean B2B catalogue with capabilities, certifications and a sample request flow does more than a glossy homepage.

  4. 04

Startups and tech companies in Lisbon

Product sites, documentation, onboarding flows and dashboards built on a modern stack that your own team can extend later.

  5. 05

    Real estate and relocation services

Agencies and relocation advisers serving international buyers need property search, multilingual listings and lead capture that routes enquiries by language.

Web design and development for Portuguese companies

Most of the sites we build for Portugal start with one question: who is the visitor, and which language do they think in? A guesthouse in Lagos might get most traffic in English, German and French, while a Porto accountant mostly needs Portuguese. We plan the language structure first, then the design.

  • Portuguese and English versions with proper hreflang tags, not machine-translated copies
  • Booking, reservation or quote flows that work well on a phone
  • Online shops with shipping rules for the mainland, the islands and the rest of the EU
  • GDPR-aware cookie consent and clear privacy pages
  • Fast hosting and image handling so pages load quickly on mobile data

You get a site you own outright, with the code and admin access handed over at launch.

Local SEO in Portugal: Google Business Profile, maps and regional pages

Search behaviour in Portugal splits neatly. Residents search in Portuguese for services near them; visitors search in English, often before they arrive, for things to do and places to stay in a specific town. Good SEO covers both.

We set up and tidy your Google Business Profile, fix categories and opening hours, and help you collect reviews in a steady, honest way. For businesses serving more than one area, we write separate pages for real locations, such as Cascais or Vilamoura, only where you genuinely serve them. On the technical side we handle site speed, structured data, internal links and a sitemap that search engines can read without guessing. We report what moved each month in plain language.

Google Ads campaigns for the Portuguese market

Seasonality shapes most Portuguese ad accounts. Algarve and Madeira operators often need budgets to build in late winter, when northern Europeans plan summer holidays, and to ease off when rooms are full. A Lisbon software company, by contrast, wants steady search campaigns around specific problems its product solves.

We build campaigns by language and by market, so English searches from the UK are not mixed with Portuguese searches from Porto. Conversion tracking is set up before any spend: calls, form submissions, bookings and purchases. Then we prune wasted search terms every week and send you a short written summary.

Social media management for brands in Portugal

Instagram does much of the work for hospitality, food and lifestyle brands in Portugal, because the product is visual and the audience is often abroad. Facebook still matters for local services and community groups, and LinkedIn suits exporters, startups and professional firms.

We plan a monthly calendar, prepare posts and captions in English and, where you supply or approve the Portuguese, in both languages. We can also run paid social for bookings or product launches and connect it to the same tracking as your website, so you see which channel actually brings customers.

Working with a remote team from Turkey: time zones and process

Turkey is on UTC+3 all year, so we are two hours ahead of Lisbon in summer and three hours ahead in winter. The Azores add one more hour. In practice our afternoon overlaps your morning and early afternoon, which leaves plenty of time for calls inside your business hours.

How a project runs: - A free intro call over video, then a written proposal in English with scope and timeline - A shared project board where you can see every task and comment on it - Weekly updates and a call whenever a decision is needed - Launch, handover of accounts and code, then ongoing support if you want it

There is no local office and no account manager in between. You talk to the person writing the code.

How we work

Every project follows the same five steps. At each one you know who you're talking to and what you'll receive.

  1. 1

    Free intro call

We talk through your business, goals and budget, and look at your current setup together if useful.

  2. 2

    Written proposal

Scope, delivery date and price, itemised in writing. No surprise extras later.

  3. 3

    Design and build

We work in short cycles; a preview link lets you follow progress and comment at any time.

  4. 4

    Launch

We set up the domain, hosting, Search Console and analytics, then take the project live.

  5. 5

    Support and growth

We stay reachable after launch: fixes, new features, SEO and ad optimisation.

Web design in Portugal: FAQ

Do you have an office in Portugal?

No. Weras Labs is based in Turkey and works with Portuguese clients remotely, over video calls and a shared project board. We do not have staff or an address in Portugal, and we say so up front. What you get instead is direct contact with the senior developer who builds your site.

What is the time difference between Portugal and Turkey?

Turkey is two hours ahead of mainland Portugal in summer and three hours ahead in winter, because Turkey does not change its clocks. The Azores are one hour further behind. Our working afternoon overlaps your morning, so calls are easy to schedule within normal Portuguese office hours.

Can you build a website in Portuguese and English?

Yes. We build multilingual sites with separate URLs and hreflang tags for each language. We work in English ourselves, so Portuguese copy should come from you or a translator you trust; we then lay it out, check it in context and make sure search engines index each version correctly.

Can you help an Algarve or Madeira business take direct bookings?

Yes. We can add a booking engine or connect the one you already use, make the availability calendar easy to read on a phone, and track direct bookings in Google Ads and analytics. The aim is to make booking on your own site at least as easy as on a marketplace.

Do you handle GDPR cookie consent for Portuguese sites?

We build GDPR-aware cookie consent banners that block tracking until the visitor agrees, and we lay out privacy and cookie pages clearly. The legal wording itself should be reviewed by your own adviser, since we are developers, not lawyers.

How do we start?

Book a free intro call. We ask about your customers, your current site and your goals, then send a written proposal in English with scope, milestones and timeline. Nothing is billed until you accept it.
